What You’ll Need
½ – 1 cup water
12 oz. bag of fresh cranberries
10-12 dates, pitted and diced
2 Navel oranges, juiced
2 Mandarin oranges, segmented
1-2 cinnamon sticks
How to Do It:
Gather all ingredients.
In a medium saucepan, combine the 1/2 cup water, cranberries, dates, orange juice, and cinnamon sticks. Cover and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer on low for 30 minutes.
Stir occasionally to prevent burning. If the sauce gets thick add ½ cup of water and continue cooking.
Peel the mandarin oranges. Using a paring knife cut away the peel and pith of the fruit.
Separate into segments.
Remove any excess skin and any pits from the middle of each segment.
Cut the segments into ½ inch pieces.
Once the sauce has reached your desired consistency remove it from the heat. Your sauce should be a bit chunky.
If you prefer it less chunky, use an immersion blender to smooth it out.
Remove the cinnamon sticks
Gently mix in orange segments.
